1. Dogs have a right to be respected as sentient creatures with needs of their own, above and beyond their relationship to humans.
2. Dogs have a right to be brought into this world in a thoughtful manner which will improve their particular breed as well as allow each dog the best chance of finding a purposeful existence that, at the very least, meets that dog's basic needs.
3. Dogs have the right to have their basic needs, for food, water, adequate shelter, healthcare and belonging to a "pack", met.
4. Dogs have the right to adequate training to allow them to fit into the human society into which they have been born.
5. Dogs have the right to have the human responsible for them, control them so that they will not become a danger nor a nuisance to others nor a danger to themselves.
6. Dogs have the right to adequate exercise, discipline and affection based on their own personalities and their breed to keep them mentally, physically and psychologically fit.
